In Lagos Nigeria, 17% of the state is composed of waterways and lagoons. But water transportation is highly underutilized, despite poor road infrastructure and traffic congestion. Now, the state actively seeking to develop its waterways network through public ferries and private operators as well as a partnership with the international boat racing franchise E1, with the first African E1 event taking place in October.
